CITIZEN BASELWORLD 2018 – CITIZEN 100th Anniversary Models

CITIZEN launches special collection to commemorate its 100th anniversary.
Limited-number models features CITIZEN’s proprietary light-powered technology, Eco-Drive*1,
are designed under the theme as “moment when light is transformed into time.”

CITIZEN is proud to announce the launch of a special collection of Eco-Drive models designed to commemorate its 100th anniversary. The Limited collection includes nine models, all of which features light-powered technology Eco-Drive, which CITIZEN has developed over 40 years. Individual models also feature other exclusive CITIZEN technologies such as Super Titanium™*2 , Duratect*3, radio-controlled technology*4, and GPS satellite timekeeping*5.

A gold and black dial ring featured on all models expresses the collection’s theme of the “moment when light is transformed into time”, and also symbolizes Eco-Drive.

*2. Super Titanium™ is CITIZEN’s proprietary technology to treat solid titanium with CITIZEN’s proprietary surface hardening technology, Duratect. It is at least 5 times harder than stainless steel, resistant to scratches, lightweight and gentle to the skin for comfortable wearing.
*3. Duratect is CITIZEN’s proprietary surface hardening technology developed to protect watch’s natural luster and finish beauty. By applying special processing to materials such as titanium and stainless, it increases the surface hardiness and protects the watch case and band from scratches and flaws.
*4. Radio-controlled technology receives signals from radio stations to correct time and calendar automatically.
*5. GPS satellite-synchronized watch captures the date and time signals sent by GPS satellites from space — orbiting 20,000 kilometers above the Earth — bringing ultra-precise timekeeping to wherever people are on the face of the globe.
*6. Power Reserve Indicator displays the remaining power of the secondary battery used for Eco-Drive.
*7. Light Level Indicator shows how much power the watch is generating through CITIZEN’s proprietary Eco-Drive technology.
